Camp Themes & Age Groups
To ensure age-appropriate learning and fun, we've tailored our camp themes to different age groups:
Critter Camp (Ages 6–8)
Dates:
Perfect for young animal lovers, this camp introduces children to the basics of responsible pet ownership through supervised animal interactions, crafts, and fun lessons. Campers will learn about different species, their basic needs, and the ways humans and animals help each other.
Animal Advocates (Ages 9–11)
Dates:
Designed for young changemakers, this program takes a deeper dive into the world of animal welfare. Campers will experience hands-on learning at the HBSPCA, meet professionals who work with animals daily, and explore how they can make a difference in the lives of animals in their community.
Vet Camp (Ages 12–14)
Dates:
Ever wondered what it’s like to be a veterinarian? This camp is perfect for aspiring vets, offering an inside look at animal medicine through interactive workshops on X-rays, physical exams, and veterinary procedures. Campers will meet a variety of veterinary specialists and explore careers in animal healthcare.
Careers Camp (Ages 12–14)
Dates:
Animals are more than pets—they’re a part of many different careers! From zookeepers and falconers to veterinary neurologists and wildlife rescue teams, this camp provides an exciting look at the many professions that revolve around animals. Campers will also learn how to critically evaluate animal welfare and discuss ethical issues in animal care.
